TPOs, in the form of thermoformed extruded sheet, have been very widely utilized for car interiors. Splush molding is the preferred process when grains, deep lettering or logos are required.
The needs for non-PVC materials like TPO have been increasing to meet styling demands.

TPO vs PVC or PC/ABS
PC/ABS have traditionally been used to make instrument panels. They are more difficult to process and more costy.
Furthermore, compared to PC/ABS, the material’s ease of weldability allows for reduced component complexity while increasing stiffness.
Windshield fogging is an issue. And this material help solving it while reducing VOCs and odors. The reason is it does not use plasticizers or toxic stabilizers.
It is more environmental friendly. It allowed for closed loop recycling.
Improved interior quality can also be expected : preventing brittle cracking or color fading (UV protection is better), and warping.
The leather-like feel in TPO skin also builds up perceived sense of value.
